What Will I Be Doing as a Retail Solar Engagement Associate?
- Participate extensively in direct customer engagement activities, mastering the art of initiating friendly conversations about solar energy in retail settings or at local events.
- Work closely with experienced team leads, observing best practices in customer interaction, educational outreach, and effective lead generation.
- Assist in tracking individual and team engagement metrics, analyzing data to identify trends in customer interest and effective conversation starters.
- Help facilitate informative discussions for potential new customers, focusing on the core benefits of solar technology and how it can address their energy needs.
- Support the development and communication of clear lead generation targets and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with campaign goals.
- Provide on-the-ground support to curious customers, assisting with basic inquiries, addressing common misconceptions, and ensuring smooth information flow.
- Offer insights from customer interactions to help refine engagement strategies, messaging, and outreach tactics for the Solar Retail campaign.
- Foster a positive and motivating team environment, building strong rapport with colleagues and leading by example in energetic customer interactions.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to lead capture, basic reporting, and maintaining an organized engagement space.
- Liaise with other departments (e.g., sales, operations) as needed to ensure lead qualification and customer follow-up are optimized.
What Do I Need to Bring to the Table as a Retail Solar Engagement Associate?
- A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is highly preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in leadership, formal or informal, or in customer-facing roles such as retail, promotions, or service, with proven strengths in communication and active listening.
- A strong, proven work ethic and a clear desire to develop into a customer engagement expert.
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inform and inspire others about solar solutions.
- Natural leadership qualities including the ability to take initiative and guide conversations effectively.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret customer interest and identify actionable insights for lead generation.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail or event environment.
- Resilient, adaptable, and a proactive problem-solver with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in basic computer applications; willing and aptitude to learn CRM and lead tracking software.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
